Small but impressive – this is probably the best way to describe our home village Villabassa. This was well understood by many famous personalities in earlier times, who spent their summer holidays in Villabassa and went on high-altitude cures there. Understandable, because with its quiet and yet central location, nestled in the most beautiful natural scenery for miles around, your holiday in the Val Pusteria shows itself from its very best side. Numerous experiences related to culture, nature and health await you here in the Dolomites.
Villabassa has made a name for itself as the first Kneipp für mich® village in Italy, and anyone who spends their holidays with us in the Dolomites should have visited the Kneipp Active Park (at least) once. Like a stork, you wade through the cool water together with the professionals on site and then into the new open-air inhalatorium – the perfect way to awaken your spirits.
Albert Einstein knew that to keep your balance you have to keep moving. In the motor skills park in Villabassa, skill is required when your motor skills are put to the test and encouraged at 12 different stations. Being active in nature has never been easier.
Villabassa has always played a decisive role in tourism in the Val Pusteria. Which is why the Wassermann House opens its doors every year between July and October and its exhibition provides insights into the beginnings of tourism and its development, the construction of the Val Pusteria railway and the life and work of Emma Hellenstainer, once the most famous innkeeper in Tyrol.
